Partnering schools select one or more works of performing or visual art for their students to study (see Featured Works of Art for this year’s performing arts repertory). Then, specially-trained teaching artists work with classroom teachers to plan lessons around these works of art and across the curriculum that model imaginative learning practice. Teaching artists may visit the classroom several times during the unit, engaging students in activities such as art making, observation, reflection, and research.
Schools can choose their level of involvement. They can have as few as one classroom teacher working with LCI or many. For schools with the capacity for a deeper level of engagement in LCI's approach to imaginative learning, we continue to offer our intensive long-term collaborations.
Educators have access to the Resource Center, a digital library maintained by the Institute, and are welcome to enhance their teaching through enrolling in International Educator Workshops.
Costs vary depending upon the number of participating classes, teaching artist visits, performances, or museum visits, and any customized events requested by the school.

I share the value that LCI places on the arts and art making as an entry into other disciplines and as a means of appealing to a wider variety of learning styles both in and out of the classroom.
